In his will, local outdoor enthusiast George Merwin left a portion of his estate to the Rogers Public Education Foundation with the directive that the money should “provide teacher grants in the area of outdoor education.” While this grant was active, the Foundation distributed a total of $30,000 to local teachers in Mr. Merwin's name.
The RPEF promotes and enhances the quality of education in our community by collecting and distributing money for worthwhile academic programs that would not normally be funded through conventional means. All RPS teachers are encouraged to apply for these local grants which are awarded each year!
